Match Report Press Report

Petersfield 1 Lost to Wykeham Exiles 2 in a close match.

With the home team having higher Gradings in 4 of the strings, the match was always going to be in their favour. The away team proved the statisticians wrong though by clinching a great win.

On paper, the number 4 string should have been the closest, with only 65 ranking points separating the two players before the match. The Away player, Ian Berrill, did well therefore to secure the win.

It was the number 1 String which turned out to be the most competitive, with the Players battling out over a total of 86 Points ! Victory finally going to the Away Player, Andrew Whittingham.

Player of the match must be the Away number 1 string, Andrew Whittingham, who over-turned a 1937 ranking points disadvantage to record a great win.
